Civil Engineering

The skills of the GC engineer:

The field of civil engineering, as currently defined, covers all the techniques and processes in the field of construction. It therefore includes works as varied as:
In a construction project, the jobs of GC engineers are found in the following successive operations:
In addition to these traditional design, project, execution and control activities, which are closely linked but often entrusted to different specialized teams, the GC engineer is also present in the exploration, natural hazard, industrial and urban sectors. , spatial planning and the environment. The GC engineer generally works in organizations as diverse as construction companies, engineering firms, control offices, central or regional government departments.

Training and Study Plan

The training of GC engineers at ENIT is open to all current and future construction trades. Thus, these engineers acquire ENIT training in engineering sciences (maths, physics, mechanics and computer science) and have a wide range of teaching modules specialized in construction techniques. This training is provided by a complementary team of permanent teachers involved in world-class research activities and experienced engineers practicing in the various professional branches of the construction field. The involvement of these engineers in the training process has a direct impact on the opening of engineering students to the professional world and facilitates their access to internships and end-of-studies projects that are rewarding for their professional integration.
At ENIT, GC engineering students follow a core curriculum consisting of general-education modules (common to all specialties) and specialized modules in GC. The specificity of each graduate engineer then appears through his own choices in terms of optional modules, internships, year-end projects and end-of-year projects. These choices correspond to about one third of the training content in terms of hourly volume. Thus, a GC student-engineer can direct his choices towards building techniques, geotechnics, infrastructures, hydraulics,. Some students could also orient their choices towards research in mechanics of soil materials and structures, or in hydraulics and environment. These choices should be motivated by a career project.
